Let’s face it; being a mom is hard work! That is why I wanted to take the time to give you a little bit of help with these 10-minute meals for busy moms. Making lavish dinners and lunches sounds like a great idea, but whether you go to work or are at home with the kids all day, it’s not always feasible.
Plus, there have been so many nights when I don’t feel like cooking, so we hit up a fast food place. That is fine once in a while, but I don’t like the idea of making a habit out of it. So I have scoured the internet to find the easiest, most delicious tried, and true 10-minute meals for busy moms!
7 Meal Planning Tips And Hacks For Moms
Before we dive into the actual recipes, I wanted to spend a couple of minutes giving you some additional hacks and tips. There are things you can do ahead of time that will save you time later.
- Brown hamburger ahead of time. You can brown hamburger on the stovetop or in your Instant Pot, drain any grease out and put it in freezer bags. Then when you need some, just grab a bag and defrost it and toss it in the recipe. This saves TONS of time later on and if you are already browning some, why not double or triple the batch?
- Take advantage of your slow cooker. Try to get in the habit of using it once or twice a week. It’s so nice to toss a few ingredients into the pot in the morning and then only make side dishes right before serving.
- Use leftovers in other dishes. If you don’t eat all the corn, green beans, or other veggies you make one night you can add them to freezer bags. Then make a soup or another recipe by adding it in when needed. If you are making rotisserie chicken, consider making 2 and then use the meat for other meals like tacos or fajitas.
- Make sure to add salt to your water when boiling. This will make it boil faster, so you don’t have to waste time waiting around for it to boil.
- Chop vegetables for the entire week at once. Let’s say that you grocery shop on Sundays. When you come home, wash and chop everything up before putting it away. Then it will be so quick and easy to grab it and add it to your recipes.
- Make one-pot or one-pan meals. Just add the ingredients, cook them, and serve — no need for dirtying extra dishes or spending time making side dishes.
- When you can, make sauces and butter mixes ahead of time. If you make homemade pasta sauce, you should make a second batch and freeze it. Then you can quickly defrost it when you are ready to use it.
